Malhamdale Apocalypto
- 2009 Whole Black
- Sire Dartdale Jimmy Lad
- Dam Rosebarr Donna
Apollo was bred from particularly selected sound stock and he demonstrates all their good qualities and has even succeeded in finding some of his own too! He is an incredibly comfortable ride with great personality. If you want to breed something that is capable of doing a job with a great work ethic, but that also has floaty good paces and eye catching movement, then Apollo is a good choice of sire for your mare.
Stud fee for 2020 £350.

He adapts to any discipline asked of him and settles in any environment and adapts to any rider. He has won 2 consecutive years in the traditional ridden stallion class at the Dales Pony Society Spring Stallion and Breed show.
- 1st ever outing – Spring Stallion and Breed Show, Barnard Castle; 1st Traditional Ridden Stallion, 1st Novice Ridden Pony. Reserve champion ridden pony.
Apollo has competed in many disciplines including, dressage, eventing, trec, working hunter, to name a few and he’s accompanied horses to the races to help keep them calm and settled. He is a take anywhere, do anything pony and is used by both experienced and novice riders alike to learn on. He’s travelled and competed on both UK and USA soil. We couldn’t be prouder of how well he fits in with whatever our plans require.
Apollo’s sire, Dartdale Jimmy Lad is a kind, laid back stallion, chosen particularly for his temperament. You can walk into his field amongst him and his mares and youngstock and treat him like the oldest softest member of the herd. He generally throws good height and substance to his offspring.
Apollo’s Dam, Rosebarr Donna was Zana’s favourite lead pony when she ran Devon Riding Holidays and took customers out on trails. She was honest and enduring (in fact it was impossible to tire her out) and Zana knew she would negotiate anything on the trail to lead the other ponies and riders past, through or over. She clocked up amazing mileage and still is as a late teenager for her new owner in Devon. She could out trot any other horse (others would be galloping to keep up at her full trot speed) and she has amazing action and a kind heart.
